Rylen Akana

Ry Akana - President/Chairman

Ry is the founder and president of the Hui O He'e Hau O Wakinekona.  Originally from the island of Molokai, he transplated to the Pacific Northwest in 1993.  He enjoys snow sporting with his wife Paree and their five children (Casey, Cameron, Morgan, Mary & Coby).  His vision is to make snow sporting available to all pacific islanders who desire to try snow sporting, develop a group of like-minded individuals who are environmentally conscious and who want to act in the preservation of our natural resources, and foster family relations though snow sporting.


 

Al "Rocky" Ramento - Vice President

Rocky is a co-founder of the Hui O He'e Hau O Wakinekona, and serves as vice-president.  Originally from Kaneohe, O'ahu,  he started skiing in 1979 while living in Anchorage, Alaska.  He moved to the Pacific northwest in 1983 and became an annual skier at Crystal Mountain ski resort.   He also other Pacific northwest resorts like Snoqualmie summit, Alpental, White pass, Mt. Hood Meadows.  He particularly likes skiing at Park City, Utah.

He's married to Wife, Susan Ramento, who is also an avid skier.  They have 2 daughters who both skied at a young age.

Rocky is an accomplished percussionist, and plays with the Po'okela Street Band every year at the Snorting Elk at Crystal Mountain.



 

Lisa Hansen - Treasurer

Lisa is acting treasurer for the Hui O He'e Hau O Wakinekona. Born and raised in Seattle, I didn't get into skiing/snowboarding until I was in my twenties when I met my husband. I feel in love with the sport! I enjoy being in the snowy mountains, I feel you can think clearly and really have a feeling that you are a part of something bigger then yourself.


Paree Akana - Parliamentarian

Paree is co-founder of the Hui O He'e Hau O Wakinekona with husband Ry.  She is a native Wakinekonaian, by way of Mountlake Terrace.  Paree is an avid skiier and can remember skiing as a little girl, at Stevens Pass, with her Father and family.  She has ski'd some of the best slopes in Utah as a college student while attending BYU in Provo.  Paree works as a special education teacher at Highland Middle School in Bellevue. 


Fred Carlos - Activities Chair

Fred is the activities chairman for the Hui O He'e Hau O Wakinekona.  Originally from
